Job Description:
The Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The role involves developing personalized therapy plans, conducting therapy sessions, counselling patients and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare and educational teams. Fluency in Hindi is essential for effective patient communication and therapy delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients with speech, language, communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Conduct speech and language therapy sessions for children and adults.
- Evaluate patient progress and modify therapy programs as required.
- Provide counselling and guidance to patients, parents, and caregivers.
- Maintain accurate therapy records, assessments, and progress reports.
- Work closely with doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and educators.
- Assist patients with communication aids and therapeutic exercises.
- Educate families regarding home-based therapy support and communication techniques.
- Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and rehabilitation planning.
- Ensure adherence to professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and organizational policies.
- Support awareness and early intervention programs when required.
- Visit peripheral centres and school / village evaluations and learning centre. Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Speech and Hearing, Speech Language Pathology, Audiology, or related field.
- Valid professional certification/registration as applicable.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Fluency in Hindi and good communication skills in English.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques.
- Ability to work with pediatric and adult patients.
